Mind the Gap...ha!

Mind the Gap - fall, jump, devour into it instead?

 

'Elf & Safety Warning' - Please don't physically fall into that Gap, it's a metaphor for something bigger. Something that faces you each day, each week, each month. That nagging feeling inside of you. 

 

Hey, maybe there's no nagging feeling and everything is hunky-dory and your bananas are straight.

Stop jumping over the Gap, thinking it's not there - its bloody huge and unless you deal with it, assuming you want to deal with it. There's always the Changeless Life - the life less started. The 'If only...' life.

 

The Gap, your Gap in your life, that Gap that holds the pain, the issues, the lack of belief, the lack of confidence, lack of action and the lack of challenge.

 

When you look in the mirror tomorrow morning, tonight, taking a selfie - ask yourselves these questions (Triggers - Marshall Goldsmith):

  • Did I do my best to set clear goals?

  • Did I do my best to make progress toward my goals?

  • Did I do my best to find meaning?

  • Did I do my best to be happy?

  • Did I do my best to build positive relationships?

  • Did I do my best to be fully engaged?

Move into your discomfort zone, disrupt yourself and reach into that pain, that fear. Grab it with both hands and give it a massive tree embracing hug.

 

Give it a name and ask -

 - why are you here?

 - what is your reason for coming now?

 - what qualities or gifts are you making me aware of?

 

 

Don't push this away; I'm not talking about the tree here okay. I'm referring to that fear, nagging doubt that's sitting on your Self 1 shoulder - remember Self 1 from an earlier post - Self 1 - The loud inner voice of the Judge or Critic

 

Otherwise you will just revert to your chosen drug of choice that will create this external mask for you to wear and everything will be okay...of course it will be. What's your drug: alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sex, TV, social media, latest gadget?

 

They are all distracters. Believe it. 

 

Drive and action, with a structured path of goals to move you forward to defining where you need to go. Action towards those concrete, yet flexible, adaptable goals that you desire. Goals are great but don't live in the goals. Don't create that future induced anxiety.

 

Goals are great but be present in everything that you do, as its those present moment actions that will bring closer your goals.

 

What are the reasons for those goals, for your personal and professional growth?

 

Find the purpose that lives and gives energy to these goals. From this place you will find your authentic self and with that your internal drive and motivation to take action.

 

Coaching will give you Confidence: Confidence to take Action, Confidence to take Responsibility, Confidence to Challenge, Confidence to work with Change and Confidence to have a Clear Vision and Focus.
